Hi all!
Happy Thanksgiving Weekend to my fellow Canadians! I hope you're all stuffed with turkey.. I ended up having two turkey dinners this weekend, and both were awesome - there's nothing I love more than a good Turkey dinner with all the fixings.. yum!
Anyway.
Here's another oldie that's been sitting on my camera for more than a month now. One of my faves yet!
This is pretty much the theme and colour palette for my wedding - jewel tones and peacock, I love everything about them! I started out with Color Club Metamorphosis on my pinky, which is a lot more vibrant in real life but the sun kind of washed the colour out.
On my index and middle finger I used Layla Ceramic Effect in The Butterfly Effect a gorgeous purple jelly polish with flakies that flash red to orange to green.
For my ring finger I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls then using various striping polishes I free handed the peacock feather. It was SUPER easy and so much fun. I filled the 'eye' using Essie Good as Gold, Color Club Lumin-Icent and Metamorphosis.
I loved this one :)
Thanks for reading!

Mermaid nails
Hi loves,
Long time no blog :/ My life is currently 100% consumed with finishing my grad thesis. There is an end in sight though so I'm hoping to be back semi regular posting soon-ish. Today was actually the first time I painted my nails in THREE weeks!
But for now I show you something from the vault. Mermaid nails I wore to the beach:

I started off with a base of Layla Mermaid Spell then stamped using a Mash plate whose number I can't remember right now, slapped on some top coat and voila!
Perfect holo mermaid nails for a gorgeous sunny day at the beach :)

Feeling Green?
Hi everyone!
Ok - I know some of you hate when bloggers apologize for their absence, but I'm really, truly sorry! C deployed on Monday for 6-7 months so the week leading up to him leaving was a little cray cray and we spent it running around and doing last minute things so I neglected my nails and hands big time. But, now he's gone and I'm hoping to blog more often to keep me occupied. We'll see how that goes :P
Here's a mani I was sporting quite a few weeks ago.

Here's a mani I was sporting quite a few weeks ago.
The accent nail is Layla Ceramic Effect in Green Galaxy, which is an awesome, awesome dark green jelly with green glitter throughout. I also added Revlon Celestial FX and Heart of Gold FX to it, which are both super fun glitter toppers even though I had to fish for the larger pieces.
The rest of the nails are China Glaze Running in Circles (swoooooon!), stamped with one of the new BM plates in Essie No Place Like Chrome, then I added Orly Miss-Conduct to make the heart pop :)
Have a great end of week guys, thanks for reading and not giving up on my little blog during my slow time!

Birthday Mani
Hey loves!
Today is my 28th birthday!
My posts have been lacking lately, I know - but my family lives a few provinces away from where I do and I have been traveling and spending time with them, since I rarely see them. So I think I have a good excuse :P
Here is the mani I'm currently sporting for my birthday - I wanted to keep it separate from Christmas. Even though having a Christmas eve birthday really doesn't bother me much, I wanted something different. And since I found all of the Layla holos on major clearance, I figure it was a good time to put my favourite one to use. Here is Layla Ultra Violet, and using Konad Psyche Pink and Black I stamped a cute little cupcake from the new BM plates!

Flakie Love
Hi all!
Who doesn't love flakies? They completely transform the look of a manicure, AND removal is pain free. The other day I was browsing one of our local drug stores and stumbled upon a full display of Layla Ceramic Effect polishes at a pretty average price, so I picked up this gorgeous purple flakie polish. I may have to go back and get a couple more :D
~~~
To create this look I started by using Gosh Deep Purple as my base, with an accent of the gorgeous Revlon Royal. Then I added one coat of this Layla Ceramic Effect polish (whose name I can't find?), on top of Deep Purple, and Finger Paints Motley over Royal. I really loved this look! My only regret was using such a dark base for the Layla flakies, it masked the pretty purple base and basically made it look like the regular orange-to-green flakies.
Here's a bonus photo showing the colour shift of the flakies. And if you look closely you can see my kitty's reflection in the window (right above my pinky).. if it were up to him he'd photo bomb every single one of my pictures lol.
Hope you're all having a fabulous Tuesday, and don't forget to go vote for your favourite manicure over at the Nail Polish Canada nail art challenge!
