POTTERthon: Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix

Hello dear readers.

Here's my 5th installment of the HP series.  And it's a bad one.. I'm almost embarrassed to post this but.. so be it.  Nail fails happen!

This book drove me nuts.  I remember sitting at my brothers place and reading it in about 3 days.  I hated professor Umbridge with a burning passion lol.  I had a hard time choosing what to do for this mani, and finally settled on this:

Professor Umbridge was upset that Harry was 'spreading rumours' about Lord Voldermort having returned, and as a punishment she had him write lines with a special quill.  He had to write "I must not tell lies" over and over again, but as he did, the words would also get cut into his skin.  So this is what I did.. I tried to make it look all hurty and bloody.. I think it sucks ;)

PS.  Don't forget to check out the other gals doing this challenge:

  1. I am so with you, Julie. Umbridge is the most vile character in the entire series (IMO) and I still cringe when I think of her sickly sweetness and cruel tendencies.

I personally think that the whole idea of this manicure shouldn't necessarily have an end result that is ultra precise ... afterall, you're depicting wounds. They aren't exactly "pretty". ;)

This mani is somewhat horrifying (because of what it represents) but also very well done. I think it's a complete win.

  3. I felt the same way about the book. I was so upset about the effect she had on Hogwarts, it was the only place Harry felt like home and she ruined it.
Also, I think your nails look great and I love the idea! :)
