The one with Dollish Polish

Hi all!

I have jumped onto the indie polish bandwagon and purchased a few bottles from Etsy.  I'm still waiting on some to arrive, but in the meantime, here are two gorgeous polishes purchased from Dollish Polish:

Here is Hip Hop Hippity Hop, with two accent nails in Fat Guy in a Little Coat.  I adore these.  There was an issue with this particular HHHH formula, which has now been fixed by Dolly.  The result of this is now a slightly different polish, but the idea behind it is the same and oh so pretty.

I applied three coats for both polishes.  HHHH is opaque in about 2 coats, whereas the other still shows slight visible nail line if you look closely.  Not a problem for me since I really don't mind.  The pictures were taken after 3 days of wear and it's still looking like a fresh mani.  Such good wear!

Have you purchased any indie polishes lately?

Thanks for looking :)

Hey, Sailor!

Hi girls!

Just a quick post to show a mani I wore for four days, something that is completely unheard of.  The boyfriend and I stopped by Sally's last week and he picked out these two polishes for me :)

The red is China Glaze Hey Sailor (which he picked based solely on the name since he's a sailor himself, but I actually really, really love this red) and the accent is CG Lubu Heels (because I keep telling him I want Louboutin shoes to wear under my wedding dress whenever we decide to get married ;).  You can't really see the red shimmer in the black polish, but it's a really nice shade!  I got amazing wear out of this mani, but I was getting bored with it, and felt unmotivated to repaint my nails, so I added a coat of Dollish Polish - Team Salvatore, which is a cute glitter polish.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Magnetic Waves

Hi lovelies!

I have to admit, I am absolutely loving the magnetic polish trend right now.  It's so simple but adds a little something extra to a quick mani :)

I initially bought my first magnetic polish last summer when they showed up at a local drug store.  I hadn't even started 'hoarding' polish yet, but still had this redish beauty in my possession.

The accent nail was Layla's Velvet Groove, which I love so so much.  It's such a rich redish purpleish pinkish colour (what colour IS that? lol), and the remainder of the nails is Claire's Magnetix in blue.  The only thing I can't get is for the magnetic pattern to stay nice and crisp.  Ah well, still pretty.

What are your thoughts on magnetic polishes, yay or nay?

Bright Houndstooth

Hi lovelies!

I'm trying to plan a few posts so I can get back into the groove of things.  I have a bunch of photographed manis that I haven't posted yet!

This is one I did about a month ago, and I loved it so much!

Houndstooth design has got to be one of my favourite patterns, ever.  The green is CG - Gaga For Green which is MUCH brighter in real life than it appears in these photos, and the accent is OPI - Fly.  I used a pattern from one of the You Mix XXL plates, except this stamp in particular is too small for my thumb :(

I loved these colours together!  They definitely brighten things up :)

Thanks for looking ladies :)

Ole Caliente!

Hi all!

Sorry for the week long absence.  Honestly, I just haven't felt up to editing photos then blogging, I've been putting in long hours at school trying to get lab work done and the last thing I've been wanting to do is come home and sit in front of my computer for any length of time.  Forgive me?  I thought so :)

I have some Spring Challenge manis to catch up on, but I'll leave that for another day.. what I'm showing today is just a NOTD from a few weeks ago.

Here I used Essie - Ole Caliente (which I've heard is a dupe for OPI - Red Lights Ahead.. Where? from their new Holland collection), with an accent nail of OPI - Kiss me on the Tulips.  Then to quickly embellish the mani I used Lacquistry's Shredded, and Revlon - Sparkling on the accent nail.

There's major tip wear though, and I believe these were only taken a day after I put the polish on..  Such is life when you're a lab rat!

PCFSC: My kind of Daffodils!

Hi lovelies!

One day late, again, in posting the challenge mani.  At least it's only one day :P  Yesterday's challenge was to do daffodils on your nails.  I tried, I really did.. then burst out laughing once it was all done with and removed it right away.  I really wish I would have taken a photo to show you guys anyway, but I wasn't thinking!

So, in honour of daffodils, I did yellow (and blue) leopard print nails!

Whoa, the difference sunlight pictures make, the colours really pop!

The blue base & blue leopard print is Essence Colour & Go - Let's Get Lost, and the yellow accent nail and yellow print was done with Color Club - Dress for the Parade.

Not pictured is Wet 'n Wild Black Creme, which I used to surround the spots :)

So, I cheated a bit, but this was too awesome of a mani to not post :)

Hope everyone's weekend was fabulous!  Check out the other girls participating:

PCFSC: Pastel Patchwork

Hi all!

Staying true to my my procrastinating self, I'm a day late posting this, but it's okay.. right?  So this is my first patchwork mani, and I was pretty pleased with how it turned out :)

I started out painting my nails white, then adding the black lines using Milani Nail Art in black.  I then used three different colours to fill in the 'patches', and finished off by retraced the black lines to make it look cleaner (basically I just followed the tutorial by Kayla).  The colours used were Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Mint Sorbet, Revlon's Dreamer and Essie's To Buy or Not To Buy, with an honourable guest on my thumb of Essie - A Crewed Interest ;)

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend, and don't forget to check out the other participants and see what their patchwork mani looks like:
