Water Decal Review - KKCenterHK

Happy Sunday!  I hope you're all having a fabulous weekend :)

I have another review today brought to you by KKCenterHK.  I don't know what it is but I've been finding myself going ga-ga over peacock themed things.  Feathers, the colours, the clothes.. everything!  Maybe because they're jewel tones and I'm instantly drawn to those.. who knows.

But when I saw THESE water decals I knew they were coming home to me :)

 

For these decals you get a little sheet with 4 rows of masquerade masks and 4 rows of peacock feathers.  Enough to last you a little while if you choose to use them strictly for accent nails.  

You cut out the bit you want placed on your nail, soak it in water for about 30 seconds then carefully peel off the decal using tweezers.  I then dip my nail in the water before placing the decal as I find it helps a little bit with the placement - you can slide it around a little bit more.  Once it's place I dab off the extra water on a piece of tissue, wait for it to dry completely then finish it off with top coat!

 

They are super easy to use!  I thought they'd be delicate and that my tweezers might damage them but that wasn't the case at all. 

I chose to leave them plain here over a base of Color Club Antiquated but you can easily dress them up using a small brush and some polish.

My pinky has two glorious coats of OPI Alcatraz.. Rocks, which is probably my favourite textured polish, ever!

 For my index and middle finger I started with a base of Color Club Perfect Molten, then sponged on from tip to base Color Club Cold Metal, Color Club Lumin-icecent, Color Club Hot Like Lava and Perfectly Molten.  I had never done a gradient using anything other than creme polishes, but I really loved the look of this!

Alcatraz Rocks & The Impossible Liquid Sand

Hi all!

Just a quickie swatch of quite possibly my favourite textured polish yet!

Here is OPI Alcatraz Rocks, which OPI describes as a textured grey but is actually a beautiful dark blue with a multitude of different coloured glitter thrown in there.

It. is. BEAUTIFUL!  I can't get enough of this shade and constantly found myself grabbing my hands and staring at my nails.  How's that for a confession? :P 

I paired it with one of the Mariah Carey liquid sand shades, OPI The Impossible which is also a stunner.  I am absolutely LOVING the liquid sands.  Alcatraz Rocks is also stunning with top coat on but I couldn't capture the depth and dimension of it on camera so I left those pictures out.  If you haven't got your hands on this polish yet, you MUST!

Fall inspired Skittlette

Another quickie today :)

I put this mani together after a few cold and rainy Halifax days, which put me in the mood for a Fall inspired look.

I started with OPI Honey Ryder on my pinkie, and OPI Chatters me Up on my ring and middle finger.  This was an exclusive polish to the salon Chatters in Canada.. it's such a beautifully sparkly polish!  Then using a Pueen stamp and Essie Good as Gold I added the image on both fingers.

On my pointer finger I added two coats of Essie Don't Sweater It.  Once dried I placed striping tape and one coat of Essie Recessionista. 

This was a fun look - I'm so happy to be able to sport darker shades on my tips again :)

OPI Bond Girls: Honey Ryder and Jinx

Hi all!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend :)  Mine was pretty mellow, which is something I need everyone once in a while!

I don't know about you guys, but I am completely smitten by the Liquid Sand polishes that OPI has released so far.  When Nail Polish Canada put the Bond Girls collection up on their website I purchased them all without a second thought.. And I'm so glad I did!

Here is OPI Honey Ryder (gold) and Jinx (red-ish, orange-ish, coral-ish).  These two go together so well because of the gold shimmer in Jinx.  I loved this combo a lot!

What do you all think of the textured polishes?  Love it or hate it?

Floral & Stripes

Hi all!

There have been some amazing floral nail art going around lately, so I decided to give it a try.  I hadn't done flowers in what seems like ages!  

When I started this look I wasn't sure just what I was going for, but I'm super happy with how they turned out!  On my pinkie I have a base of OPI Solitaire and dots are OPI Tifanny Case, both from the new Bond Girls Liquid Sand line.  My ring finger is China Glaze Electric Beat, and the purple flowers are China Glaze Gothic Lolita.  To outline and detail the flowers I used OPI Eurso..Euro.

 

On my middle and index finger I have China Glaze Gothic Lolita with flowers done using  Electric Beat and Eurso.. Euro.  A white stripping polish was used for the strips.

Pink Skittlette

Hi loves.

I'm not doing very well at keeping up with this blog, sorry!  I'm planning on having a nail painting and picture taking day this weekend to hopefully get ahead on here, I just haven't been home much lately :)

 This mani consisted of OPI Dim Sum Plum on my index and middle finger, and using OPI Pedal Faster Suzi and a small dotting tool I added the dots.  My ring finger is OPI Houston We Have a Purple with Color Club Backstage Pass sandwiched between.  I hadn't done a jelly sandwich in a while, I forgot how much I love them.

 

And on my pinky we have OPI Stay the Night.  I found the collection on sale at one of my drug stores so I picked up a few more liquid sands and Anti-Bleak, which I have yet to wear.  I do love the liquid sands a lot though, I cannot wait for the Bond Girl collection to be available!

Happy humpday and first of spring!  We got a huge snow storm last night and so was able to spend the morning at home until the snow got cleared from the roads :)  Thanks for reading!

Black and Purple

Hey loves!

Long time no blog, huh?  I thought with Chris being deployed I'd stay busy with my nails and blogging but I've instead been staying busy with friends and I hardly find the time to just simply paint my nails!  But I have a few manis lined up so there will be a few blog posts up in the next few days :)

Here's something simple that I wore after I finally got my hands on some Zoya polishes.  And the very last liquid sand polish from the Mariah Carey collection that I found at Winner's :)

 

On my index and middle is Zoya Storm, and OPI Can't Let Go is on my ring and pinkie.  I didn't know how I felt about the textured polishes but I really loved this one!  I'll have to go around and pick up a couple more of them :)
