Pink Candies

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a great weekend :)  Today's post is a mani I was rocking for longer than usual because I absolutely LOVED how bright it was.  And it almost had a touch of whimsy to it as well.

This isn't entirely colour accurate, but Color Club Warhol is SO HARD to capture correctly on camera.. and I don't know how to play with settings so.. this is what I got.   It's a beautiful, super bright pink with a touch of red to it.

I stamped using OPI's Black Onyx and the candy image from the new Bundle Monster plates.  Then I added dots using my smallest dotting tool and OPI's Fly.

And I finished it off with a glittery accent nail using Orly - Can't be Tame from their new Flash Glam FX line :)

What do you all think of playful manis like this?  It may not be work appropriate but I'm a student so I can still rock these for a little while yet :)

OPI - I Have a Herring Problem

Happy Almost-Friday!

I have a cute little dotticure to show you guys today, featuring OPI's I Have a Herring Problem.  I don't know why it took me so long to use this colour, I kind of really love it!  It's such a pretty, dusty blue with a crazy amount of cool shimmer through it.

I've seen these types of doticures floating around a lot, and I've always wanted to do one, but kept on forgetting.  Not wanting to spend a lot more time on my nails after a manicure fail I decided to have a go at it.  I love how it turned out :)

For the dots I used all OPI polishes in Ink Suede, Steady as she Rose & Gargatuan Green Grape.   I absolutely adore the mix of cremes and shimmers going on in this mani.  Dots are such a simple yet effective way to play up a manicure :)

Pink and Grey

Hi everyone!

Here's a cute mani that I did over the weekend, I love this one so much!   My stamping is improving, but there are still a few flaws that bother me.  It looks good if you don't stare at it from too close ;)

The pink polish is Color Club I Believe in Amour, stamped with Essie's Power Clutch using one of the new Bundle Monster plates.  I initially wanted to stamp with a silver polish but I think this turned out much nicer :)

For the accent I used Gosh Silver, a beautiful silver foil polish.  I dabbed on some China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara on the tip, then one coat of Revlon's Stunning, which just gives it a little extra sparkle.

NOW.  For some exciting news.  My boyfriend proposed to me over the weekend, it was the sweetest thing ever.  He's so not the romantic type but he did really well ;)  And so that's why I'm sporting a dainty, girly kind of manicure, to complement the beautiful ring I'm now sporting on my finger!

I absolutely adore it!

And an awkward photo showing the little sapphire that's embedded, and the classic Birk's Blue Box (which, Jayne from Cosmetic Proof used as inspiration for a mani, found here ;)

Happy Tuesday everyone and thanks for looking :)

NOTD: Red, Black & Blue

Hi all!

TGIF!  The first week back at work after holidays is always the hardest, I managed, but I'm so glad to see the weekend :)

For this mani, I couldn't decide just what I wanted to do, so I used a bit of a combination of things.

I recently got a few more of the Orly Flash Glam FX glitters and I knew I wanted to use them, but I also wanted to play with the new Bundle Monster plates, and this is what I came up with.

Index and middle fingers I have Color Club - Boys Wear blue, stamped with Orly - Luxe.  Ring finger and thumb is OPI - Black Onyx layered with the gorgeous Orly - Spazmatic and Orly - Sashay My Way.  Then for the pinky I used China Glaze - Hey Sailor and Orly's Sashay My Way.

Ideally, I feel like I should love this, but I don't think I totally feel it at the moment.   Maybe there's just too much going on?  Regardless, it's staying put for a little while longer :)

Stamping Fail?

Hi all!

Quick post showing you my latest stamped mani.  I got the new Bundle Monster plates and I was dying to use them.  I decided on the lightning bolt image.  My stamping wasn't terrible, but I certainly had to fill in some areas with my black striping polish.  And then, when I added top coat it smeared like crazy!  It looks good if you're not looking at it from too close ;)

I started with a base of Essie - A Crewed Interest and Navigate Her for the accent.  I added a coat of Essie's As Gold as it Gets on top of Navigate Her, then individually placed gold glitter bits from from Orly Sashay My Way on top.

For the rest of the nails I stamped the lightening bolts using WnW Black Creme.  Then my top coat smeared them so in an effort to cover that up a bit I added a coat of Essie's Pure Pearlfection :)

Not a bad stamping effort for my first time in a while, but definitely far from my best work.  Ah well, can't have them all hey?

OPI's Just Spotted the Lizard

Oh well, hello there!

Sorry for disappearing again!  I was away on vacation visiting Alberta and seeing family for 2 weeks, and things were so rushed the week before that I never got around to scheduling any posts.  But I'm back (and slightly depressed to be back at work to be honest, I had way too good of a time visiting out there), so hopefully I can get a semi-regular posting schedule while trying to finish up my thesis :)

Here's a sunlight photo of OPI - Just Spotted the Lizard, the stunning green duochrome from the Amazing Spiderman collection.  For the accent I taped off portions of my nails and added diagonal stripes using  Orly - Rock Solid (grey) and Orly - Rock It.

Artificial light, I love how much more green and duochromey it looks in this photo :)

Thanks for looking!
