Jack Skellington - A little late

Oops.

I meant to post this a few days ago.

We watched The Nightmare Before Christmas a few days before Halloween and after seeing all of the Jack Skellington nails floating around I decided to give it a try :)

 

I used OPI Black Onyx & OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  I used cutepolish's youtube tutorial and painted on the face using black acrylic paint and a small brush :)

Ikat Nails

Hi everyone!

As the title suggests, I have some ikat nails to show you today.  I first seen these on instagram, and one of my favourite nail girls on there (@lafemmelulu) did this amazing ikat mani, and posted a quick tutorial on how to do these.  In my opinion hers are much, much better but for my first try at these I don't think they were so bad.

I started off with a really nice neutral shade of (what I think is) Color Club Earthy Angel.  I love these shades of polish.  I just find them comforting.  I randomly added some red blobs in China Glaze - Hey Sailor, and added OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls in the centre of the red.  Then using a black striping polish I randomly added little black wisps around the red polish to complete the look.

I don't know what ikats are, but I like the print!  And so do many other bloggers because I've seen this popping up a lot this week.

The one with Pretty and Polished

Here are two polishes that I purchased from Pretty and Polished

 

I started off with two coats of Essie - Marshmallow, and 2 coats of OPI - Meep Meep Meep for the accent, then added two coats each of Pretty and Polished Jawbreaker and Swing on the accent.

 

I don't normally like white nails, but Jawbreaker was gorgeous!  It isn't stark white so it didn't clash with my skin tone, and application was flawless.  The only glitter I wasn't able to get was the large red square glitter that I see in the bottle, but none appeared on the nail.  No biggie.  

Swing on the other hand was a bit tricky to apply.  It's a gorgeous red jelly but the glitter is pretty sparse and I did have to go fishing for it.

Still, it's too beautiful to not bother so I'll definitely be using both of these again :)
